By the Hand of the Father, the critically acclaimed original work written by Theresa Chavez, Oscar Garza, Eric Gutierrez and Rose Portillo, returns home to Austin this weekend. The performance, featuring music by the legendary Alejandro Escovedo (whom you already know we love), dramatizes the unique 20th century experience of five Mexican American fathers and reflects on the personal stories of America's immigrant history.

This show marks the triumphant return of Austin singer/songwriter Alejandro Escovedo, who had to miss previous performances due to illness. This weekend the entire cast will reunite for a special celebration performance. Alejandro will be joined by Pete Escovedo, Rosie Flores, Ruben Ramos, Rick Trevino, and the By the Hand of the Father ensemble. Immediately following the theater performance the audience will be treated to a Special Celebration Concert starring Alejandro Escovedo with all of the musical guests.
