Austin Wranglers Ready for Prime Time?

One of the greatest players in NFL history appears interested in working for the Austin Wranglers. "Neon" Deion Sanders says he is very interested in coming to work in some capacity for the local ALF team. We are not sure where "Prime Time" would contribute, but he would definitely raise the profile of the team.

"I'm very interested in arena football," Sanders said. "I love the game and have loved it for years. I really just have the time and commitment to give to it, so I'm exploring the opportunities."

Sanders retired after last season as arguably the greatest cover-cornerback in NFL history. Sanders, a former dual-sport star, had a prolific career with the Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens and a spotty career as an analyst on CBS. The brash Sanders, also left open the door for a return to the field in Wranglers' gear, although we imagine he was joking.

"If I don't like what I see, I may just have to go down there and play," Sanders said, half-joking.

you take that back. there is only one ricky!

  • I can already see Dieon deciding to play, which would be so unfortunate. He's on the verge of becoming the Ricky Henderson of football.
