Hump Day Happy Hours

We don't know how any of you can possibly think about drinking after last week, but these two reasons are as good as any:

• Keep Austin Blue, founded from the remnants of Kerry supporters back in 2004 and whose mission is to "celebrate the fact that we live in a cool, blue oasis in a desert of red," is hosting their monthly social hour over at Mother Egan's Irish Pub. Tonight's is a special Blogger Edition, with guests from Burnt Orange Report, In the Pink Texas, and our lovely friends over at Pink Dome -- the latter who've hinted that they'll be performing some sort of politically-charged skit. (6:30-8pm)
• Not too far away, the Writers' League of Texas is having a happy hour over at Halcyon -- "Whether you’re a League member, non-member, avid writer, or Sunday-afternoon scribbler, here’s an opportunity to share your fondness for the written word." Books 'n booze? Not too shabby. (6pm)
