Disposable Furniture On Its Way to Austin!

Budget Scandinavian modern home store Ikea is slated to begin construction on its new Central Texas site this Wednesday. The behemoth Round Rock store sits on near 22 acres, and when completed next spring will boast a 252,000 sq ft indoor space and 1,100 parking spaces. Which means, thank god, that we'll no longer have to trudge over to Houston and/or Dallas to pick up ten-dollar shelves and buck-fifty kitchen utensils. Though there certainly isn't a shortage of this on Craigslist.

MMmmmmm, Ikea. I was thinking about driving to Houston with a friend's van this summer for another round of shopping since leaving college. I'll wait until the new store opens.

  • I would flip through catalogs and wonder "what kind of dining set defines me as a person?"
