King Straggler Comes Back to Town!

We interviewed these guys a while back, and now they're back for SXSW: From band member Rodney:

We've got a band called King Straggler (www.kingstraggler.com). We like to call what we do; 'Y'allternative'. It's three front-men, all writers, (backed by a smokin rhythm section). Whoever writes the song sings the lead vocal with the other two singing the three part harmonies. So our record, and shows are like a continually morphing collection of individuals expressing themselves, but with a solid thru-line and cohesiveness. It's not like seeing three different bands; more like seeing one really interesting singer-songwriter, with a multiple personality disorder. Think The Eagles with some balls or CSN with Cobain sitting in on a few songs. Oh yeah, and as far as "Americana" goes, one of our members, (John Hawkes, (Meat Joy, Deadwood), comes from Alexandria, Minnesota, the town Bob Dylan calls, "The Birthplace of America." (it's true! Bob Dylan; Chronicles, pp. 175). (John also lived in Austin for close to a decade) So, if you're gonna be in Austin for the fest. come check us out, we're at Bourbon Rocks, (508 E 6th St.), Sat, the 18th, at 9:00 PM SHARP! Luckily, it's an early show for us, which makes it easier to see more bands later in the evening.
