Woman Hit by Train in South Austin

This afternoon around 2pm, a woman was hit at the tracks near Oltorf and Thornton Road [KEYE.com]. She has been identified as Tara McAvoy. McAvoy was Miss Deaf Texas for 2005-2007. Union Pacific officials are still investigating what caused her death and whether it was accidental.
