'Tis The Season

The running season, that is. Remember how we told you about all those races last weekend? Well there are more this weekend. And next weekend. And every weekend. Sweet Jesus! We can't keep up!

Those guys from the Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo are really looking out for us. Friday morning, they're offering a fat bomb of a Cowboy Breakfast, but then they're giving us the chance to work it off in the Sunrise Stampede 5K on Saturday. After the 5K, they even have a Kid's Rodeo Rumble 1K for the under 12 crowd. These runs will get you into the fairgrounds early for a sneak peak at, um, whatever there is to see at the rodeo fairgrounds before it opens to the general public. If you really want to get you and/or junior in shape though, you should probably skip the goodies from McDonald's and biscuits and gravy they'll have for all registered runners. Or, at the very least, wait til after you run to eat that crap delicious food.

But that's not all, folks. If you're an east coast transplant and just the thought of a rodeo give you hives, then check out the Go For the Gold 10K or the Fiesta 5Kish Fun Run, both also on Saturday. The 5K is actually 3.3 miles, but you can walk the last .2 miles if you want and still say you ran a 5K. Heck, you can walk the whole way and say whatever you want for all we care. Just don't say we didn't tell you about all these chances for you to get your lazy ass out of bed and get in shape.

Actually, it's a series of crazy mutant millepedes. They do seem in good shape though.
