exploreut_banner.jpg

With the understanding that the University of Texas is a public facility, and funded by the people of Texas, the president (of UT, not Dubya) has continued the tradition of having a yearly open house. Explore UT is an annual event that allows people to explore and get to know all of the exciting things that the university has to offer. From solar cars to mariachi music, from video games to Shakespeare, the open house offers a wealth of experiences that are entertaining and informative.

You can start your day by picking up an passport to help document your adventures on the "40 Acres." Getting stamps to add to your passport as you make your way across campus learning more about the university and it's programs. You can join the Longhorn Band to become an honorary member as you march your way across to the tower for the Living Insignia Picture. Speedway will be turned into a Festival featuring various activities. A musical stage on the East Mall and tours of the tower will be available as well. More than 30,000 visitors are expected at the "The Biggest Open House in Texas!”
