A Big Hairy Beast of a Festival

504396483_m.jpgAfter SXSW trashes our fair town, Coachella layers the California desert with dusty beer cans, and Wall of Sound leaves Fort Worth a city ... well, much the same, we're probably heading over to Sasquatch, the annual Pacific Northwest festival at Washingon State's scenic Gorge Amphitheatre. Scheduled to perform during the three-day Memorial Weekend blitz are Austinites Trail of Dead and Iron & Wine, plus a salivatory stew of sweet, sweet bands:

FRIDAY, MAY 26
Nine Inch Nails, (Surprise Band- to be announced), HIM, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Wolfmother

SATURDAY, MAY 27
Ben Harper, The Flaming Lips, The Shins, The Tragically Hip, Neko Case, Iron & Wine
Sufjan Stevens, Gomez, Rogue Wave, Architecture In Helsinki, Sam Roberts, Constantines, The Brunettes, Matt Costa, Bedouin Soundclash, Tim Seely, Korby Lenker, Common Market

SUNDAY, MAY 28
Beck, Death Cab for Cutie, Queens of the Stone Age, Matisyahu, The Decemberists, Nada Surf, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Blue Scholars, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Arctic Monkeys, We Are Scientists, Chad VanGaalen, The Heavenly States, Rocky Votolato, Laura Viers, The Village Green, Mercir

Tickets, which start at $55/day, go on sale March 4th. And yes, this has nothing to do with Austin. But we're tellin' ya anyways!
