No Fun League Cracks Down on Ricky...Again

Former Heisman Trophy winner and former Texas Longhorn Ricky Williams has gotten into some hot water, again. Williams reportedly has violated the NFL's drug policy for the fourth time. A fourth violation requires a one-year suspension from the league. Williams, who won the Heisman in his senior year in 1998 at UT, was the subject of intense scrutiny after failing several drug tests and admittedly smoking marijuana, then disappearing and resurfacing at a holistic training facility in Northern California.

After walking away from his team before the 2004 season, William returned last year after a four game suspension and ran fro more than 700 yards, helping the Miami Dolphins make a late-season push for the playoffs, ending the season with a six game win-streak.

It is unclear whether Ricky tested positive for the ganj or if he simply missed a test, which would be considered a violation of the league’s policy. Ricky's mom seems to think that Ricky, who is in India right now - where most NFL superstars spend the off-season - may have failed the test due to legal supplements he has taken as part of his yoga and holistic medicine regimen.

We shall see. We think Ricky should be able to do whatever the hell he pleases, but we hope for everyone's sake he has not chosen to go back to smoking the tree, at least until he ends his playing career. Not after everything he and his team had to endure the last few years.
