The Black Crowes Unplugged in Austin

The Brothers Robinson of The Black Crowes are heading out on the road as a duo for a special run of multiple-night acoustic shows. They are only confirmed to be hitting Brooklyn, Manhattan, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Austin. That's right, folks, four confirmed markets, and Austin is one of them. Pretty heady company, we must say.
The Crowes manager Pete Angelus confirmed today that Chris and Rich will be performing a collection of their catalogue, influential covers as well as new material, billed as “Brothers Of A Feather: An Acoustic Evening With Chris & Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes.” The shows will be recorded for an acoustic live album to be released at a future date. Although The Black Crowes have performed a few acoustic numbers in their electric sets in the past, this will be the first time the infamous brothers have ever performed full-length acoustic sets in their 16-year career.
So, where in Austin can Chris and Rich play a small acoustic show that could be recorded? How about the Cactus Cafe. The Brothers will be playing two shows each night (7pm & 10pm) at the Cactus on April 17th and 18th. Tickets go on sale this Friday at Noon (whether that is central standard or eastern time, we are not sure as yet).
