A Duo of Valentine's Day Shows
Peel, Austinist's favorite dysfunctional Austinites - in a band, that is - share the stage at Emo's tonight with Cry Blood Apache, The Carrots, DJ Jennifer (of KOOP's Ear Candy), and - last, but most certainly not least - Voxtrot. The quintet just recently signed with local label Peek-A-Boo Records (The Octopus Project, Palaxy Tracks), and (we're hoping) will eventually get around to releasing a full-length album - it's tentatively titled Vehslage, the origins of which are far too obscure for us to speculate on. In the meantime, you can check 'em out here:

Keep in mind, as well, that this is Voxtrot's final show before they embark on their ridiculously comprehensive semi-national tour, during which they'll be featured on WOXY and making out with underage kids over at sunny UCLA.

Not to be outdone, the White Ghost Shivers are playing their own show over on the Eastside's Longbranch Inn, which is touted to be a Valentine's-themed dance party. They recently released a collection of radio sessions and assorted good bits, which you can preview here:
