"close second"? If an 11% margin means a "close second", then John Kerry's support was indistinguishable from Bush in 2004. 11% is generally regarded as a butt-whipping. Particularly when the two Dem candidates combined for 60% of the vote.

Check it -- there is actually something meaningful in this election: Donna Howard opposes teaching intelligent design, on the basis of keeping kids competitive when it comes to math and science on the global front. God bless Donna! She gets my vote.
