The World's Fastest New Movie Releases!

What do we want? MOVIES! When do we want them? NOW!

*Before the Fall
An interesting film set in 1942 Berlin about an elite school where the country’s brightest young men were trained to be future members of the Nazi regime. Yeahhh, there’s just nothing funny about that.

A Good Woman
Holy crap, Scarlett Johansson and her breasts are everywhere, it seems. At least this movie finally answers the question, “What ever happened to Helen Hunt?”

Something New
Whoa, this might be taking things a bit too far: a film about an INTERRACIAL couple? Are you not completely offended? I mean, first gay cowboys, and now this? The world is not ready!

This Land is Your Land
Something about corporate culture run amok, yadda yadda…sorry, we were too busy going to Wal-Mart and drinking our Starbucks double soy lattes to listen.

When a Stranger Calls
As if it’s not hard enough to find a good babysitter these days. This flick is going to scare the bejeezus out of 14-year-old girls everywhere.

The White Countess
Two words: Merchant Ivory. Draw your own conclusions from there.

The World’s Fastest Indian
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s review could be summed up thusly: “overripe and corny.” We just wish we could get the sound of Gwen Paltrow’s voice saying “AnTony Hopkins” at the Golden Globes out of our heads. Smug bitch.

Also, the Spike & Mike animated film festival is going for another run this weekend at the Alamo Drafthouse Downtown. That shizz is sick and twisted, man.

* Austinist recommends. We also recommend these first runs: Brokeback Mountain, Capote, Chronicles of Narnia, Fun with Dick and Jane, Good Night and Good Luck, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, King Kong, Match Point, Munich, Sarah Silverman: Jesus is Magic, The Squid and the Whale, Syriana, Walk the Line

“What ever happened to Helen Hunt?”

I could have gone the rest of my life without needing to know the answer to that one. I'd almost rather know the answer to, "What happened to Kozin Larry?"

Ha! Amen to that, Odam. First we agree on B&J's vs. Amy's. Then we agree on Helen Hunt!

You have excellent, refined taste, my friend.

i still prefer amy to david sedaris ;)
