Be Part of the Outside Art Revolution: Call for Art
Image from Art Outside website
All artists, performers, and lovers of art are encouraged to participate in the 2nd annual Art Outside.
The Art Outside site explains the event as follows:
Returning to the Enchanted Forest for 2 weekends in 2006, Art Outside will have more art, more performances with over 140 spaces available on 3 acres of land and 8 days & nights of programming to fill your imagination.
Art Outside is a one of a kind community endeavor with the goal of reinventing the idea of what an "art show" is by taking all forms of art: sculpture, installations, painting, performances, you name it, and placing it outside the box of a traditional gallery. This is art unconfined by the walls and traditional displays that most associate with art exhibits, this is art placed out of context in an urban forest canvas where the landscape shapes your perspective, and becomes part of the art itself. Art Outside is the art show for people who never go to art shows, and of course, it is also an art show for connoisseurs of creativity.
Art Outside is taking place during two different weekends: March 23rd - April 2nd, in the Enchanted Forest which is located off of Oltorf and Lamar, right across from Office Depot. We love the Enchanted Forest, one of our favorite and no longer best-kept secrets, and so we're excited to be part of this event!
