We Want to Ride Our Bicycle...

HCRA.jpgWell, it’s far enough into the new year that we’ve already broken most (if not all) of our resolutions. But one of our resolutions was not to let the fact that we broke our initial resolutions keep us from resolving to do other good things throughout the year. Or something like that.

Anyway, we have signed up to do the Hill Country Ride for AIDS this year, which takes place on April 29th. We figure this is a great excuse to dust off our bike, get in shape, enjoy the hill country during peak wildflower season, eat Clif bars, wear spandex, and support a great cause.

Why are we telling you about this now if the ride isn’t until April? Because we figured you need this much time to get your lazy ass off the couch and get in shape. Plus, the first training ride is coming up this Saturday and now you have all week to get your bike ready and overcome all your lame excuses for not doing this ride.

Seriously, this is an amazingly well-supported event that welcomes riders of all levels from spandex-suited-elites with tricked-out Treks to Converse-clad-slackers riding first generation mountain bikes. There are free training rides every weekend and you even get your very own web page to help with fundraising. The Ride benefits several local AIDS organizations and your one day of pedaling helps folks living with HIV/AIDS all year long. It’s really a beautiful thing. And all the cool kids are doing it. Click here to sign up or just show up at the training ride on Saturday to check it out.
