Cheese, Peppers, BBQ Sauce, and a touch of Tequila

Austin has many flavors. An overwhelming amount of them are Mexican, Tex-Mex, and BBQ, but hey, no one can say that we don't have our share of fine dining, as well as variety. Interested parties can sample a good many of these flavors at this weeks Taste of Austin event.
The Taste of Austin happens this Tuesday, January 31st, at the Palmer Events Center. Some of the 60 participating restaurants include Carmelo's, Green Pastures, Sao Paulo's, and Tuscany Cafe. $20 is the cost of admission, which includes parking. If you love food and don't mind the crowds, this could be a cool event. An added bonus is that a portion of the ticket sales will go to support the Austin Restaurant Association scholarship fund. And if you buy online, you'll help support Mobile Loaves and Fishes. Buy now, though--tickets will probably sell out.
