I Love the Smell of Napalm in the Morning. It Smells Like....Public Relations!

Where in the world is Carmen San Diego Rick Perry? Well, apparently the governor, in the midst of his television ad barrage extolling the virtues of the great state of Texas, has gone on a covert mission overseas in support of the troops. Along with Perry is possible presidential hopeful Governor Mike Huckabee of Arkansas as well as Govs. Dave Freudenthal (WY) and Jim Doyle (WI), both Democrats. The governors will visit Kuwait, Tikrit and possibly Afghanistan and Pakistan.
While out of the country, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst has been acting as governor, which we guess entails spraying one's hair a lot, kissing babies and pandering to the religious right. Bor-ing. While Dewhurst acts as governor, our Allen Y. Chen has been acting as Lt. Gov. After that it gets a little tricky, but we will tell you we have brought in bubbles the chimpanzee to help edit Austinist while AYC tends to the business of running the state.
Apparently the governors are on the trip at the invite of Condoleeza Rice and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. It all seems so "24" to us. We are sure Perry is regaling troops with a nice rah-rah pep talk from his old Air Force days.
*Please note, with all this said, we very much support the troops, so keep those comments in your pocket for a later post.*
