Hustle a Giant Burger While the Beer Flows

Waiting on three-quarters of a pound of beefy (or eggplanty) goodness at Casino El Camino. Anyone know where the name Casino El Camino came from? We never thought to ask.

In the photo, by the way, are the Saldana Bros. of local band Visitors.

  • that's me! someone buy me a drink.

  • that's me! someone buy me a beer.

  • Sweet photo. And yes, the bar is named after the proprietor himself who generally refuses to answer to his real name.

Connotations...pardon. Which brings up another question: How come a car is named after a walk?

    Great pic:)

  • Kat

I think 'la calle' is just the road or the street, but el camino "the walk" has deeper possible conotations. That's just a somewhat educated guess though. Did I spell conotations right?

  • Carol

Of course it is gorgeous, that's Nick Saldana. Purr.

El Camino just means the road. I've never heard it translated as a true path? Huh?

  • odam

    as always, gorgeous photo

  • matt wright

Sweet, thanks. And I definitely like it better as "Casino is the True Path."

  • stan

    Just ask the man himself.

Casino El Camino was supposed to be a rough translation meaning "Casino's Roadhouse", but it effectively translates to "Casino is the True Path."

  • by the way, that is a beautiful photo.

  • the owner of the bar is named Casino. nicknamed. whatever.

but somehow I doubt he drives an El Camino. maybe it was his first car?
