Tatted Up Artists Throw the Best Parties

We’ve already told you that Austin has the highest number of tattoo parlors per capita of any city in the United States, which was undoubtedly the selling point for tech companies when they moved in with their Volvos and 2.5 children. For those who doubt cyber geeks love their ink, we have proof. We will pay for someone to get this one, or maybe even this one. Actually, that is a lie, we won’t pay for anyone’s body art except our own. But we will post the picture and find it endlessly amusing.

Whether or not you are willing to make such an adventurous (stupid, whatever) decision, stop by the Star of Texas Tattoo Art Revival. The convention started last night and runs through Jan. 15 at the Red Lion Hotel. Work by some of the world’s finest tattoo artists will be on display, along with the usual convention fare of contests, informational booths and belly dancers. Nightly parties are planned at Emo’s.
