Suzi's China Grill Never Disappoints Us

Suzi’s China Grill off of Shoal Creek is one of our favorite local spots to eat, hands down. We love how the restaurant infuses their dishes with non-traditional flavors. We have standbys from the lunch menu, including their Jalapeno Chicken and Basil Shrimp.
This past Sunday when we went to a late lunch, Suzi’s was the busiest we’ve ever seen it. Even though they were almost packed, the hostess made a point to take our drink order and make sure we were taken care of. We’ve never had bad service at this restaurant. The waitstaff is very conscientious and keeps an eye on your drinks (very important given the spiciness of their food). On weekdays at lunch especially, the wait for your meal is minimal.
We ordered the Hunan Shrimp for lunch on Sunday. We try not to eat shrimp regularly because of the ecological impact of shrimp farming, but it's so hard not eat the shrimp at Suzi’s. For this dish, the shrimp is covered in a delicious and moderately spicy black bean sauce, and it includes mushrooms, water chestnuts, green onions, and peppers. As Racheal Ray would say, Yum-o.
The major reason we love Suzi’s is for their Krab Rangoon: a fried "dumpling" with cream cheese, chives (we think) and krab meat inside. We’ve tried cream cheese wontons elsewhere, and honestly, none can compare. This appetizer is always made fresh and steamy. It’s definitely one of our guilty pleasures.
We only rarely go for dinner, but we love the Krab Meat Spinach Soup on their dinner menu. It is so light. One time we ordered this at lunch a la carte and they made it for us, no problem. Our favorite dinners include their Chicken Extravaganza and the Chicken Supreme. If you think you'd like a dish to be spicier, just ask when you order and they'll do it.
Suzi’s can be loud at times, but can be good for group-dining nevertheless. Their lunch prices are pretty moderate, but the dinner prices are a tad higher.
