Greatest Season Ever? Apparently So

This is the time of year for which number crunchers live. They compare the national champions to previous years' champs. They take a step back. They try and get a sense of historical context for what transpired over the previous five months. Well, the good folks over at College Football News have come out with a ranking of the Greatest College Football Seasons of all time. The formula takes into consideration the following components: Wins, Quality Wins, Elite Wins, Bad Losses, Bad Wins, Elite Losses, Point Differential and Winning Percentage.
After all the numbers were tallied recently, the computer jocks came to the conclusion that The University of Texas Longhorns' victory over USC completed the Greatest Season in College Football History. Note, this is not a subjective poll to decide which team was the BEST or MOST TALENTED; it is purely a statistical look at the 70 best seasons in the history of college football. So, now you have yet another reason to brag to your friends and a little more sugar with which to swallow the bitterness of losing Vince.
