US Census Bureau Wants You

couch banner.jpg

Need a little extra spending cash? Wanna meet strangers by knocking on their doors? Wanna spend some quality time walking the streets in the beautiful spring weather? Then give the US Census Bureau a shout. The Bureau is preparing for its 2010 census and is implementing some new technology. So they figured they would give it a test run here in Austin, cause we're so tech-savy and whatnot.

There are about 1,500 part-time positions available that will pay $14.50 an hour. Information and recruitment sessions will be held every Saturday through March. Applicants must call (888) 814-6711 to find out when and where to apply. The jobs will last four to six weeks and come with paid training and mileage reimbursement.

So if you need a little extra cash or are looking for a way to get that bong-smoking two-pm-waking-up couch-crashing friend of yours who moved to town at Thanksgiving and is still not paying rent off his ass, check out the application PDF here.
