Werner Herzog Fan Club Meeting

A brand-spanking-new 35 mm print of Werner Herzog's Fitzcarraldo will be screened tonight at 9:45 p.m. at the Alamo Drafthouse downtown. The movie is about the title character's attempt to build an opera house in the middle of the rainforest. Take that, environment!

The screening is part of the month-long Werner Herzog Retrospective. Other films featured include Nosferatu, Wheel of Time, and Aguirre, The Wrath of God. Screenings are an easy $6.50 a pop, or you can swing for the "omnibus pass," which will set you back a cool $25 for all four films. Discounts are available for students and Austin Film Society members.
