George Carlin Decidedly Lame, Cancels Tomorrow's Show

Third time's supposed to be the charm, but someone forgot to tell Mister Carlin - the foul-mouthed funnyman has cancelled both of tomorrow's shows at the Paramount Theatre, making these the third and fourth appearances he's reneged on since January. From the Austin Business Journal:

"We are as frustrated about this as you are," the theater said in an email to its patrons. "We will, however, do everything we can to assist you in making this as pain-free as possible."

Shows such as Carlin's can be big money-makers that help the Paramount meet its bottom line and provide charitable or discount-rate shows.

Hear that, GC? You're screwin' the orphans!

Tickets can be refunded (but we're not sure if that includes "processing" fees, or whether there were any to begin with) or redeemed for vouchers to a future show. If one should materialize. Call (512) 472-2901 if you'd like to rant. And we'll leave you with a quote from the man for you to ponder:

"When someone asks you, A penny for your thoughts, and you put your two cents in, what happens to the other penny?"
