It's a Small World, After All

In a town as small as ours, you're bound to run into a few people you know in any given night. Hell, we've randomly bumped into old high school acquantainces at Whisky Bar or The Parish Room in the past few months - and we grew up in Orange County! Not surprising, then, that some of Austinist's favorite local personalities have taken the idea that most of our city is connected in some strange, inexplicable way and decided to throw a huge party built on that theme: welcome the Everyone Knows Everyone Holiday Bash.

At Emo's tonight, they're pairing sets by Visitors (who played our Local Music is Sexy showcase a few months ago, although we can't remember that far back), Gabe Hascall (of Slowreader), Mars Wars, Lax, and Streetcar with in-between dancefloor sets by DJ Shane and art installations by Carlos Rosales-Silva, Ben Tipton, Casey Dunn, Kyle Tweedy, Wes Rose, Austinist photographer/arts-guru Justin Cox, Christa Palazzolo and Cristina Mann-Gar.

Consider this your last opportunity to get plastered with your friends before having to deal with this weekend's awkward family engagements. Seriously.
