City Goes On Holiday

Austin's Public Information Office yesterday released details of the city's holiday schedules, reiterated below:

• City administrative offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, and Monday, Dec. 26 for the Christmas holiday and Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, for New Year’s.
• Pay-As-You-Throw customers will receive services as normal for garbage, recycling and yard trimming collection.
• The Household Hazardous Waste Facility will be closed the week of Dec. 26. Normal schedule will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 3. The City landfill will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26.
• Austin Public Libraries will be closed Dec. 23-26 to observe the Christmas holiday and Jan. 1-Jan. 2 for New Year’s.
• The Austin Nature and Science Center will be closed Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 24 and Dec. 25, as well as Sunday. Jan. 1.
• All recreation/senior activity centers will be closed Dec. 23-26 and Jan. 1-2, 2006.
• City museums will be closed Dec. 23-26, and Dec. 31 - Jan. 2.
