Duke was a Fluke, Right?

After their dismal performance last week versus Duke, sixth-ranked UT will try to shake it off when they battle the Volunteers of Tennessee at the Frank Erwin Center today at 1 p.m. Instead of blaming the horrible black Nike jerseys or J.J. Redick's career-high 41 points, fans have to accept that UT was outplayed and out-hustled by top-ranked Duke.

Coach Barnes and his team have had a whole week off to think about their mistakes and what they need to do to prepare themselves for today's game. The season is still young, and hopefully the Longhorns will suck it up and perform to their potential. A little more help from Gibson and Aldridge would definitely help an over-used Tucker. After going down early last week with a calf injury, forward Brad Buckman is questionable, while teammate guard Paulino is probable with a strained abdominal muscle.

The game will be televised on ESPN, and as of yesterday, 1900 seats were still available. Texas Box Office has two promos for the game. "The Holiday Special" is buy 2 general admission tix get one free, and the "Take a Kid to the Game" lets youths 14-and-under receive one $2 general admission. Go Horns!

Yeah, what happened to our D? it seems as if Aldridge and company have their damn feet super-glued to the court ... every rebound they just stand there with their arms out, not even trying to go for the ball.

Barnes said in the press conference after the game that they weren't playing aggressive enough . yeah, no shit

Tucker is the only player that actually tries to make things happen on both sides of the ball. If the rest of the team sits back and just supports him, it's gonna be one helluva long season.

  • Shud it!! :-) I can't beleive that. I can live with the Duke loss but this just stinks. Man up guys, come on.
