The Austin Police Dept released video footage of the two vandals who defaced the Texas Hillel on December 2, painting swastikas on the facility's windows and leaving animal remains at the door. Hate crimes like these are generally shocking and outrageous, but for them to happen in what should be one of the most educated, well-read parts of our admittedly backwards state is simply disgusting. Investigators described the suspects as:
A white female with collar-length hair, last seen wearing glasses, a plaid jacket, dark pants, white socks and sandals. The second suspect is described as a white male or a female, last seen wearing dark shorts, a heavy jacket with a white collar, dark shoes and a camouflage cap.
The indicident will most likely be treated as a hate crime, say Austin Police. Those with information are encouraged to call 512-974-5838.
