McCain Signs Name Ad Infinitum

mccain handshake austinist.jpg

Sen. John McCain stopped by BookPeople this afternoon for a booksigning and ended up holding an unscheduled Q&A session with customers. McCain then signed several hundred books and stayed more than an hour later than scheduled.

Another pic after the jump.

oh declan, are you talking about mark mckinnon?

and mcain signing at a leftist place is just a move to try and get people int he centerm ore on board. why sign at a republican store when you've alreayd got those votes.

and, it is really amazing what suffering in a POW camp will do for you. mccain gets such a free pass form the media, it is unbelievable, like is above reproach. will be interesting to see hwo they treat him when eh is nominee.

    Summer--

    Point noted.

But, until McCain releases a book on environmentally friendly parchment hand pressed by union workers with liveable wages bound with vegan glue products, I won't think he's doing it for anything other than a nice lil bump in the ole bank account.

Not that I necessarily blame him. We could all use some more dough now that George has fucked the pooch and a Democrat is sure to win. Those huge tax increases that the dirty hippies are all about are going to effect John just as much as you and I! (insert snickering here)

"or cashing in at the bookstore."

I'm not a huge fan of McCain politically, but I think one might want to note that he chose to sign at BookPeople, an independent bookstore often accused of a lbieral bias. As far as I can tell, there's only one chain store on his tour, even though he could easily set up a Wal Mart tour and get paid for it instead of relying on book sales.

No one bothered to ask Johnboy why he continues to kiss the fuzzy butt of the monkey who ran his good name, his family values, and his personal achievements into the ground during the 2000 primaries, did they?

For a man who is touted as being a strong willed individualist who doesn't play the political games, he certainly seems to not like bucking the establishment too much -- whether it be massaging the buttcheeks of Republicans or cashing in at the bookstore.

Brand McCain is almost as bad as the rest of 'em. Don't let the clever marketing fool you.
