Santa Says No Fur!

cow_bell.jpg

Well, Sexy Santa says so. A "scantily clad" Santa will be on the corner of 6th and Congress at Noon today (Wednesday, December 7th) spreading the word to holiday shoppers that fur and leather sucks and start practicing ethical consumerism, already! The message is brought to you by PETA, of course. Officially PETA says: "Be Sweet to Animals—Don’t Buy Fur, Wool, or Leather."

We know that a lot of folks find PETA a little on the extreme side, but we think their larger message is worth putting up with some stridency. Let's be humane in our treatment of animals! And we all should know by now that the fur industry and the leather industry are not humane. Fur, especially, is pretty much truly evil.

And while we are on our animal rights soapbox, STOP BUYING IAMS PET FOOD!

Thanks for your time. And please don't molest the sexy Santa.

  • There's two sides to every story. Iams actually shares more about its care of dogs and cats than any other pet food maker. Check it out at: http://www.IamsTruth.com

As if watching these people trying to look like they are really into it (from the comfy leather couch at Starbucks) wasn't entertaining enough, seeing the "scantly" clad vegan Santa's malnourished knees shaking uncontrollably in 40 degree weather is hot chocolate out the nose hilarious.

I can't resist the crunchy/gooeyness of fresh-rolled cat feces, myself. Though the rich, earthy flavor really calls for a cabernet.

  • PETA: Pretentious Exhibitions of Trust-fund Anarchists?

I feed my dog bacon wrapped fillet mignon. When she's good she gets the occasional pancetta, serrano ham or prosciutto on a water cracker with havarti cheese and freshly ground pepper as a treat.

I on the other hand, will have to find a substitute for my twice-daily bowl of IAMS lamb and rice. Something that still goes with Châteauneuf hopefully, since I've barely put a dent in that case I got last month.

    Any suggestions?

Interesting, but I can't help but completely balk at anything PETA has to say. They're propagandistic, militant, nutballs in my opinion, and their "overall" message is overshadowed by practices which, if nothing else, are more harmful to the animal rights movement than helpful. I will search for any other sources on the Iams thing though. Oh yeah, and god bless sexy Santa's;)

"...in a short red dress and a jaunty hat..."

Hee! Jaunty hats are sexy, no?

And I didn't know that about IAMS. That's quite disturbing. Tho' I feed my ungrateful, fat kitties Science Diet anyway. Don't tell me they're a bad company too....
