Think Globally, Eat Locally

15359.0.jpg

We're coming up on the last few weekends for the Austin Farmer's Market, a "vital part of the community and the Austin experience." The AFM is an awesome place to get fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses and more. Not only that, but it's a fun place to spend a Saturday morning. Roll out of bed and get down there, and you'll be glad you did. It's like brunch outside!

It's a growers-only market, so you're assured of the freshest foodstuffs. And there's nothing like looking into the eyes of the person who grew your food. Eating locally not only makes you feel good by supporting the farmers - it has other benefits as well.

Austin Farmer's Market
Republic Square Park (4th and Guadalupe)
Saturdays Through December 17th
9:00am-1:00pm

The Sunset Valley Farmer's Market is bigger and better, and open all year.

  • It definitely makes for a great Saturday morning. It really is an event. And you do get a few good meals out of your shopping as well. The good thing is that next year they will be going year round.
