Thanksgiving Television

TV.jpg

Our Thanksgiving usually consists of a huge Thanksgiving lunch (with the Detroit game in the background) and then vegging out in front of the TV that evening. There are a bevy of holiday (and non-holiday) goodies on tomorrow. Here are a few things to watch out for:

-"Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" - 9am, KXAN (NBC).

-Miracle on 34th Street - The 1947 original with "the real Santa Claus" (or so Dad tells us every time it's on). 2pm, KXAN (NBC).

-NFL Game: Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys - It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without the Cowboys game. 3pm, KEYE (CBS)

-Scrooged - Some think it tacky, but this is our favorite over-the-top version of "A Christmas Carol". Watch for pre-"Desperate Housewives" Alfre Woodard and a cameo by Robert Goulet. 4pm, TNT.

-A Christmas Story - "You'll shoot your eye out!" Enough said. 5:15pm, TCM.

-Yours, Mine and Ours - Why buy a ticket for what looks to be a tepid remake when you can see the original? Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda play lovebirds with lots of kids in this 1968 film. 7pm, TCM.

-"A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" and Finding Nemo - a family-friendly block of programming. 7pm, KVUE (ABC).

-CBS will be showing its regular evening programming, with new episodes of "Survivor", "CSI" and "Without a Trace" on at their usual times (KEYE).

Special blocks:

-"What Not to Wear" episodes will play all afternoon, starting at 11am on TLC.

-"Everybody Loves Raymond" (We don't that much, but you might), all afternoon on TBS, starting at noon.

-"That 70s Show", on FX starting at 10am and going til 8pm.

  • I'm kind of addicted to What Not To Wear. It's a terrible thing.
