Because we love our readers, we'll let you know about an upcoming advance screening of Brokeback Mountain (although if you're an AFS member, you already know about it). Based on Annie Proulx's short story, Brokeback Mountain tells the story of two cowboys (Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal) who hold a slowburning torch for each other throughout the years. Screenwriters Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana will be in attendance at this advance screening in our fair city. Tickets will go on sale Monday, Nov. 28. For more information, see the AFS page.

Whoa there Allen! Whoa boy!
i must echo allen on this one. i'm bringing a sponge.
No.You.Didn't.
Just a minor clarification, this is a benefit screening, not an advance screening. The movie actually opens Dec. 9th, 4 days before this screening. So the theater seats should have that unique, um, patina reminiscent of the old Cinema West by the time this screening rolls around.
Actually, it isn't set to open in Austin until Friday the 16th, or so the AFS page says.
is this that gay movie about a couple of cowboys doing "it" in a field. oh, brother. i can't WAIT to see this film.
i agree with allen and summer. *_*
