Kings of the Stone Age

There is a parallel universe where metal is still king. Nirvana never happened. Black shirts and acid-washed jeans are still in style, but most importantly, Bob Rock never worked with Metallica. In this parallel universe, Metallica still pays homage to Black Sabbath and Thin Lizzy. The music is loud and fuzzed out and it kicks your ass – hard, and it wears a mullet – while driving a 1985 red Firebird. And in this parallel universe, Metallica is not known by their legions of fans as Metallica … they are known as Early Man.
Worlds collide this Friday night at Emo’s as Mike Conte and Adam Bennati take the stage as Early Man, the answer to every hesher’s drunken prayers. After completing a successful tour earlier this year with whalecore heroes, Mastadon, Early Man is currently on the road supporting of their first full length "Closing In" available on Matador Records. The CD is receiving great reviews with songs like "Death Is The Answer" that prove that rock is not dead – it just grew a handlebar mustache.
Tickets are available for the 1986 price of $8.50. The doors open at 8 and Black Earth start at 10. Atomic Bitchwax headline.
