Rock the Casbah 21: Need We Say More?

The 80's monster jam is back - DJ Mel, the Boom Chica Boom Girls, an Atari 2600 Battle.

From waay back in May, Austinist writer Bre:

If you have yet to shake your ass to the sweet sweet melodies spun by DJ Mel, we don’t think you can call yourself a true Austinite. This is just our humble opinion. But seriously, DJ Mel is one of our favorite – and arguably one of the best - DJs in town. He always creates innovative and dancetastic mash-ups of everything from (good) hip-hop to reggae, techno, and rock and pop classics. He’s tiny but mighty.

Besides his regular gigs on Mondays at Nasty’s and Wednesdays/Fridays at Tambaleo (which he has called his favorite place to play), DJ Mel occasionally throws the hottest party in town, appropriately named Rock the Casbah, at the Parish. You’ve got a chance to attend one of these superfun dance parties this Saturday. Mel will be spinning the best of the 80s with his own special flair. So break out your leg warmers and day-glo, and join Austinist on the dance floor. We’re like, sooo retro.
