Jack Pendarvis, You Make Me Us Laugh

If we read an author’s work in McSweeney’s, The Believer or Paste, we blindly assume the author’s other work is excellent as well. So, knowing that writer and musician Jack Pendarvis has appeared in all three publications, we can only assume he’s a bad ass. Pendarvis’ new collection of short stories, The Mysterious Secrets of the Valuable Treasure, is a Pushcart Prize-winning book that, according to his publisher, is “laugh-out-loud funny and dripping with style.” If it’s anything like his previous work, we believe them. Pendarvis, who grew up in Alabama and currently resides in Atlanta (a Southerner – we like him already!) will be right here in the Live Music Capital of the World on Wednesday to read from his newest work at Texas’ largest bookstore, BookPeople (did you know that it's the largest? We didn’t).
To win a signed copy of Jack Pendarvis’ The Mysterious Secrets of the Valuable Treasure, email us with the subject line “JACK PENDARVIS IS HILARIOUS.” The drawing will be random, much like our taste in men.
