Starting Tomorrow: The Austin Asian Film Festival

aaff.jpg

The Austin Asian Film Festival kicks off tomorrow at the Drafthouse Downtown. The annual showcase runs through Sunday, and features over thirty full-length films, documentaries, and shorts. Countries represented in their schedule include Bhutan, China, North and South Korea, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, and more. A full-access pass to the festival costs $25 for AFS members, and $35 for the general public - those of you on a budget can still enjoy many of their programs, as well over a dozen screenings on the UT campus are free.

Highlights of this year's AAFF include the Texas premieres of three films - "Only the Brave", "Electric Shadows", and "The World" - the first includes appearances by director/writer/actor Lane Nishikawa and producer Eric Hayashi.

They're also inviting you to attend their opening and closing parties, both affording you the opportunity to meet and mingle with filmmakers, meet the staff and network with festival attendees.

OPENING PARTY
Thursday, November 3rd at 9:30 pm
Maiko Sushi Lounge
311 W. 6th Street

CLOSING PARTY
Sunday, November 6th at 9:30 pm

Also, they're still looking for volunteers to help out with Flyer/Poster Distribution, Festival Ticket Sales, Membership Sign Up, Ushers, and Special Events/Parties (thanks, Sean!). In return you can get your very own all access pass for free.
