Liz Phair doesn't deserve anyone's money after the pathetic performance during the World Series Game 1.

Gina - I agree with you about whitechocolatespaceegg being her best album. And I also agree that turning pop doesn't necessarily correspond to losing one's integrity. In Liz Phair's case, however, I think it does since her pop stuff isn't particularly original or complicated and just sounds like junk to me. As for Kelly Clarkson - she falls under the category of music that I know sucks critically, but is catchy enough that I'll admit to liking it when I hear it. Some of it, anyway. That said, I'd never buy it. I don't think it has any staying power at all. Nor does Liz Phair's new stuff. Sigh.

I am a pre-K. Clarkson era Phair fan, but I can't say I'm put off by her new stuff--it's just not special like the stuff she used to make. And although Exile in Guyville is amazing--I think that her "coolest" album is "WhiteChocolateSpaceEgg", but no one ever mentions this one! Anyone agree with me?

1) Turning pop doesn't have to mean you're losing your music integrity. It could just signal a change in attitude or happier time in a musician's life.

2) I've said it before and I'll say it again. Kelly Clarkson is the new Justin Timberlake. It is very ok to like her and not lose your music-credibility. You want to hate it, but you can't. Don't lie.

Sorry Elizabeth, but I think she has turned into a pop queen with little more integrity than Kelly Clarkson and the like. She used to be great, but I'm not sure what happened. I'll pass on the show, but have fun.
