When we were kids, "A Night on Bald Mountain" from Disney's Fantasia scared the bejeezus out of us. Yeah, we know, we're total pansies. But there is no more appropriate day to be scared than Halloween, which is why we're passing on the following information to you. From a press release sent to us by Austin’s own Invincible Czars:
AUSTIN'S INVINCIBLE CZARS DEBUT ROCK VERSION OF "A NIGHT ON BALD MOUNTAIN" HALLOWEEN WEEKEND.Austin's reigning kings of weirdo-rock The Invincible Czars will debut their versions of both Mussorgsky's "A NIGHT ON BALD MOUNTAIN" and Schubert's "ERLKONIG" in Ft. Worth, Houston and Austin for Halloween weekend 2005...The band will also perform a number of spooky originals and a surprise finale. The Invincible Czars are joined by violinist Phil Davidson of Muppletone for these performances. All three shows will feature Denton's Shaolin Death Squad (with KING DIAMOND's drummer, Matt Thomson, behind the kit).
They’ll be hitting Austin on Halloween night at Red Eyed Fly. So avoid the raging insanity of 6th street and try something a little different. Spooky different.
We just hope that giant winged demon thing doesn't show up. *shudder*

I love Schubert's "Erlkonig". . . Good stuff! I might have to check that out.
