This is a post from our new contributor, Elizabeth...(We swear, we're getting her an account soon)
Tonight after our regular viewing of Gilmore Girls (WB, 7pm), we will be torn (and wish we had TiVo). Both Commander in Chief and The Amazing Race have their premieres at 8pm. Gack!
We have heard good things about Commander in Chief (ABC, KVUE24). While we may not be big fans of Geena Davis, we do remember Kyle Secor fondly from his Homicide: Life on the Streets days (Oh, Homicide, how we miss you). The NYTimes seems to plug it as a political show with a feminist bent:
. . . "Commander in Chief" is well written and playful with its premise even as it conjures a post-Hillary world where female politicians are pure at heart or at least have learned from Senator Clinton's early mistakes.
Good reviews, and the fact that it was conceived by the director of The Contender, make us intrigued enough to record it while we watch the season premiere of The Amazing Race (CBS, KEYE42). While we are a bit wary of this "family edition", the first episode of this series never disappoints. Be prepared to yell at the TV (we've even been known to throw a pillow) and sit at the edge of your seat through the two hour premiere. We aren't sure that we will be able to keep all the names straight, but we're gonna try.
Also on tonight:
"House", FOX7, 8pm
"My Name is Earl", NBC/KXAN36, 8pm
"Sex, Love and Secrets" (with Denise Richards! For whatever that's worth!), UPN, 8pm

In an unfortunate coincidence, the black family on the Amazing Race is named the Black Family.
House owns anything that could possibly be on, sorry.
Yeah, you could see the look of relief on Phil's face that he wouldn't have to say "Black family, you're the x team to arrive" anymore.
