Scion Independent Film Series Presents the Ramones in “End of the Century”

ramones banner.jpg

The Ramones practically invented punk rock in the United States and then endured the ignominy of being copied by lesser bands for three decades while rarely receiving the credit they deserved. Come check out "End of the Century" tonight at the Alamo Drafthouse South as part of the Scion Independent Film Series. The documentary follows the lives and careers of Joey and Dee Dee Ramone and the unbelievable influence they had on the rock scene, beginning in 1974. Stick around after the show for a Q&A with director Michael Gramaglia.

Hey y'all. I suck. I thought it was Wednesday all day yesterday. But today it really is Wednesday. So you should watch Lost tonight, if you don't have anything better to do.

    TONIGHTS?!?

    Dammit!!

"Lost"? The one with the plane crash and the people who are stranded on that island? I saw that show and I believe that the "monster" that's stalking them are robot apes. Watch the episodes again VERY closely. It's there. Trust me.

And Arrested Devolpment Season 1 is out on DVD with Season 2 about to be released next month. That show kicks seven different kinds of ass.

But it's not as cool as The Ramones. I would go to that instead if I didn't have people coming over with beer and I wasn't broke and lazy.

It really is. But then I'm a sucker for anything involving mystery and hinting at other-worldliness, magic, time-travel, treasure, whatever. Except aliens. I'm sick to death of aliens and I hope this doesn't wind up being an alien-type thing. I also hope they don't run a bunch of f*&king re-runs all the time like they did last season. This is the only show I've ever watched a whole season of.

so, i guess with all of this hullabaloo about "Lost," i should pick up a dvd or something. Outside of "24" on dvd, i don't think i have seen an entire episode of a drama on tv since St. Elsewhere (or something). Is it that good, Kat?

Ack! I am hosting a Lost party tonight! I am sad!
