That’s right bitches, Dave "I’m Not Crazy and I Don’t Have a Drug Problem" Chappelle is coming to the Frank Erwin Center on Sunday, November 13th. Chappelle has only a handful of dates scheduled for his comedy tour, including only one other stop in Texas. Tickets for the show are priced at $40-$50 and they will quickly sell out when they go on sale this Saturday at 10 a.m. Chappelle made news earlier this year when he went MIA after taping a few show of what was to be season three of his ground-breaking "Chappelle’s Show" for Comedy Central. After a few days, Chappelle surfaced at a spiritual retreat in South Africa. He has faced much speculation as to why he abruptly walked away from a very lucrative contract with Comedy Central, but sources close to the comedian have said only that Dave was under great pressure as he went from being a joke-telling funnyman to a role-model/spokesperson for Black America.

  • Well at least I can just wake up saturday morning and start hitting refresh on my web browser instead of standing outside the erwin center in line like I had to for the dali lama tickets. I wonder which will be the more spiritual experience.

Anybody seen this Dave Chapelle thing called Block Party directed by Michel Gondry? With that combo it has to kick ass.

Hell yea! This is what I'm talking 'bout! More blacks! Austin has too many hippie whites. We need blacks. Funny blacks, musically-inclined blacks, welfare blacks - you name it, we need 'em.

    Dave Chappelle rocks the huzzouse.

    SLAP! or is is SMACK?

There was some comedian on Dudley and Bob this morning and Dudley was trying to get the guest(who's brother is the co-creator of the Chapelle Show) to give him the story. He wouldn't get into details because he said it was something major--mental, not drugs. Then Dudley tried to compare his mental problems w/ Dave Chapelle's, saying it was no big thing to have a mental breakdown, and someone reminded him millions of dollars weren't at stake and he wasn't a major celebrity, or really a celebrity at all. It was funny.
