Church of the Friendly Ghost will be hosting a Labor Day BYO food/drinks BBQ and show at their Eastside house today, starting at 7pm. The benefit concert - featuring local Whiskey and Apples labelmates Peter and the Wolf and Brian Beattie of Glass Eye, as well as Possessed by Paul James, Jon Crocker (from NC) and Ralph White - is raising funds to support the Hurricane Relief effort. Cash donations are appreciated, as are the following desperately-needed supplies:

PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD!

I am pretty sure we all might have SOMETHING extra laying around the house that we don't need.

WISH LIST FOR REFUGEES:
DIAPERS and other baby items, Food (think canned meats and easy snack bars and other "no can opener needed" type items), toiletries (soap, shampoo, lotion, shaving stuff,tampons/pads,toothbrushes,combs), clothing, shoes, blankets, TOYS, pen and paper and stamps, bicycles, BOOKS and other reading, Handheld radios, Walkman, batteries, extra tents and sleeping bags, etc. are all very useful to those that have lost everything.

WISH LIST FOR ORGANIZERS:
Gas $ is always helpful. If you have a dehydrator, this could be your time to shine. If you could make jerky or dried fruit snacks, healthy snacks would be great for families in need. If you don't use your dehydrator, donate it and we will get it to a family who can use it.

If you want to help get donations sorted OR you have a big vehicle and a desire to help OR if you want individual drop-offs, email me to set up a time next week.

Tonight's show also coincides with the launch of W&A's first-ever online magazine, which is packed with interviews, cd reviews, and even a downloadable mp3 compilation "album" showcasing most of the artists mentioned in the magazine. It's worth a visit - it is free, after all.
