Go Kat Go

Kat Candler has only recently wrapped her latest film, jumping off bridges, and already big things are happening. First, the rough cut of the film was chosen for the 2005 Independent Feature Project's Rough Cuts Lab. Kat and her Storie Productions cohorts (Lorie Marsh and Stacy Schoolfield) will travel to NYC in September to be a part of the market magic.

Then, The Texas Filmmakers Production Fund awarded the film a $5,000 grant, which will help take it through post production.

And finally, Kat and the film continue to get lots of positive local press. Our favorite Austin film critic, Chris Garcia (he of the good hair), wrote up a chirpy little piece on her (and that blessed film of hers) for The Statesman.

We at Austinist wish Kat and Storie Productions all the best in their storytelling travels.

Austin == Mini-Hollywood

I think I'm inspired to shoot my own movie. I'll be sure to post it here when I'm done.
