· World Leader Pretend are back in town, kicking the night off with an in-store appearance at Waterloo Records (3pm5pm) and following that with a show at Stubb's (9pm). Opening for them are none other than our new favorite English lads, Nic Armstrong and the Thieves, who'll be trying out all-new material for their forthcoming album. Those of you who were at the Parish this week know why we can't wait for tonight's set - and the rest of you will find out soon enough. We might have a spot or two on the guestlist to give away, check back later in the day. In the meanwhile, read our interviews with the bands.

· Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, The Clutters are a rambunctious indie/alternative rock band whose debut album, T&C, completely threw us for a loop when we initially popped it in to our car stereo - expecting to be gently lulled by Southern country, we instead were hit by the gale wind force of a post-punk rock-n-roll tsunami. They're playing at the Yuppie Pricks Beach Party at Emo's, along with (deep breath): Yuppie Pricks, Crushed by the British Invasion, Black Novas, Shitty Beach Boys, Emotron, The Cherry Valence, Those Peabodys, Hole Punch, Master of the Hawaiian Ukelele and more. The show's both indoors and outside - bring your swimsuits and assorted summer gear. Starts at 9. [myspace: The Clutters]
· We interviewed The Interest Kills earlier this week, but our transcribing monkey (us) couldn't get the voice recorder to dump it out for us - we promise to have it up for you next week. Until then, check them out at Beerland this Saturday, alongside The Black, AM Syndicate, Bring Back the Guns, and Blood Burnin' . 8pm

· Starting this weekend, there's finally something to do on a Sunday night other than working on those bedsores in front of the television - Plush (under new ownership and expected to improve significantly) hosts a weekly DJ night featuring a rotating cast of guest vinyl wizards. This Sunday's set includes Chris Rose of Super!Alright!, a "media collective", Rachel Goldstar of local band Experimental Aircraft (who rocked out at the Gallery Lombardi party a few weeks back, the one that also saw underage kids dancing on moving trains), and another yet-to-be-announced guest DJ. Local rock star DJs, no cover and drink specials? We're there. Free, starts at 10pm.
· Experimental noise duo Mandatory Tetricide in-store at End of an Ear. 4pm [myspace: Mandatory Tetricide]
