If you are looking for a quiet night at home on the couch this week, then you are obviously totally lame and have not seen this week’s IST List! However, you do have a pretty large selection of (mostly awful) new releases from which to pick. All of the following were released today and are available at most of your major rental houses around town, but might we suggest Vulcan Video , Waterloo , Pedazo Chunk or I Luv Video.

King’s Ransom
Jay Mohr AND Anthony Anderson? Wow! Fiiinally. (Redeeming value: Charlie Murphy!)

Whole Shebang
An Italian family love-a story-a with-a bunch-a (real) fireworks. Right. Just go rent-a Moonstruck-a, capisce?

XXX: State of the Union
Ice Cube plays a special agent who tracks down a military splinter group led by Jessica Simpson, err, Willem Dafoe? Oh, goodness. Almost makes us want to watch a Vin Diesel movie.

Upside of Anger
Kevin Costner plays (hopefully without a bad fake accent) a baseball player who falls in love. Oh, love is tricky, ain’t it?

Steamboy
An 18th century British comic done in Japanimation. Um, ok. Apparently got decent reviews.

i can't comment on any of these. i haven't seen them, and not one looks promising in the least.

i rented "we don't live here anymore" last weekend, and i definitely recommend it. compared to closer. i can see that. great cast - peter krause, naomi watts, mark ruffalo, laura dern. check out imdb for more info, please.
