Welcome, BookPeople!

We'd like to take an opportunity to welcome BookPeople as our first local advertiser! BookPeople and Austinist have decided that instead of a boring, blinking banner ad, it'd be way more cool and useful to have a mini-calendar of BookPeople's upcoming events. A few hours of coding and internet magic and voila, we've got ourselves a dynamically updating, constantly relevant information box - an infotizement, if you will. The BookPeople calendar box is over ---> that way.

Thanks to BookPeople for supporting us! And thanks to all of our readers for driving our traffic up to the point where we can sell cool ads like this. If you'd like to talk to someone about advertising on Austinist, please e-mail us!

I was just there yesterday reading books and magazines for free. Oh, I buy things there sometimes, too. You can park there if you want to go to Waterloo (

I've always been a big fan of BookPeople. I remember one of the first books I bought there, some book about soundwaves and dwarves.

Yeah, man, those BookPeople, they are hip! *cough*
