David Garza Set to Rock Stubb’s

Liberty Lunch, Steamboat, Twang Twang Shock-A-Boom … does anyone remember when the "Live Music Capital of the World" really was the "Live Music Capital of the World," or is it one of those myths like "growing up in the 50’s" where everybody knew your name and kids could ride their bikes down the street ‘til the sun went down? It seems that decades past always seem better than the present. Well, for anyone who wasn’t living here during the early 90’s or never saw his Best Buy commercial, David Garza represents the best of that era. Dahveed shows are legendary events that everyone claims to have been part of. Being a true artist, David has constantly evolved to create a style and sound that is truly unique. Each release is it’s own animal, as evident by the last two free EPs he released on his website. If you’ve never seen the man himself in action, get your tickets now for his upcoming gig this Friday at Stubb’s. Tickets are $12 and will be available for only a short time as David’s shows always sell out, and don’t forget to bring cash to pick up new CDs he will (hopefully) be selling as he promised in "Ill Troubador."

He played my high school prom in SA in 1995. I thought it was great, but there were a lot of kids upset by the lack of pop covers.

This story sounds fishy now that I'm writing it down, but I've believed it to be true as long as I can remember. However, the oft-retold fuzziness of the story sort of reminds me of the way that everyone in my family believes that Ted Nugent went with my aunt to her prom (circa 1970 or so), and I don't think that actually happened, so maybe I similarly invented this.

yeah, I got an uncle who went to high school with Gary Busey and smoked dope with the Beatles

I went to the Stubb's show, it was great. Everytime I see David I feel like my life has been changed for the better; or, atleast my outlook on life. Friday night was no exception. Rock on David. We all love what you've done for us.
