Austinist would like to welcome two new baby siblings to the Internet, as today marks the launch of both Shanghaiist and Phillyist! Welcome, Web sites! We wish you the best of luck in your little corners of the world.

Our personal experience with the friendly city of Philladelphia consists of having our car stolen off the street while visiting friends who had volunteered to take us out and cheer us up after a bad break-up. But can we really blame a whole city for the actions of a few used-condom-leaving miscreants? You bet we can!

As for Shanghai, the closest we've come to that city is waking up after a long night of drinking with a raging headache and a four year commission as cabin boy on a boat studying the bowel contents of Aleutian skates. Also, we hear there is a big skate park somewhere nearby.

Regardless, tell all of your Shanghai and Philly-based friends about these new sites or Austinist will cry, and possibly tell on you. Thanks!
